Al borde del medio siglo, el clásico combo jamaiquino regresa para presentar “Walk with me”, su más reciente placa en estudio. Creadores del ska, reggae y rocksteady, los nueve músicos comandados por el septuagenario Lester “Ska” Sterling realizarán un único show el próximo 30 de octubre, en el Club Subterráneo.

La banda fundamental de Jamaica y precursora de los cadenciosos ritmos ska, reggae y rocksteady, THE SKATALITES, regresará a Chile el próximo miércoles 30 de octubre para presentarse en el Club Subterráneo. El encuentro busca reencontrar a los fanáticos del estilo con los padres indiscutidos del género.

Con 77 años, el incombustible saxofonista Lester “Ska” Sterling lleva la batuta de la agrupación que acaba de anotar importantes presentaciones en los festivales Rototom Sunsplash (Benicassim, España) y Shambala (Birmingham, UK). Secundado por la voz de “La Reina” Doreen Shaffer y una banda que incluye al bajista Val Douglas entre otros seis músicos, Sterling es considerado una leyenda del estilo.

En nuestro país, THE SKATALITES aprovechará de presentar su más reciente placa “Walk With Me”. Clásicos instrumentales como Freedom Sounds, Latin Goes Skay Guns of Navarone, también serán parte de un listado de éxitos que incluye versiones de Bob Marley y The Beatles. Una verdadera fiesta jamaiquina al estilo de los antiguos salones de baile centroamericanos de los años sesenta.

La tercera visita a nuestro país tras los potentes shows de 2005 y 2006, se concretará el día miércoles 30 de octubre en el Club Subterráneo (Providencia). La venta de entradas comienza este viernes 30 de agosto a través de sistema Ticketek con un valor en preventa de $10.000, para luego subir a $15.000
